Terms of Service

By creating a SUMA account or using the SUMA app or website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use SUMA. SUMA is run by Manuel Sumalpong III.

SUMA is a study aid for the Philippine Mechanical Engineering board exam. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Professional Regulation Commission, the Board of Mechanical Engineering, or any review centre or school.

We work hard on the accuracy of the questions, formulas and solutions, and they are drawn from published references. Even so, we cannot guarantee that every item is free of error or matches what any particular exam will ask, and using SUMA does not guarantee that you will pass. Always check anything important against your own references.

Access to SUMA is paid, and is unlocked by redeeming an access code. Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

• An access code can be redeemed once, by one account.
• A code either runs for a set period from redemption or until a fixed date, whichever you were told when you bought it. When it lapses, access stops.
• Deleting your account does not release your code or refund it.

You can sign in to SUMA on any of your own devices, but only one of them can be studying at a time. While a study mode or grid view is open on one device, the others wait until it closes. This is how one paid account stays one reader's account. We keep a record of which devices study on an account to spot accounts being shared, and we may suspend an account that is.

Once a code is redeemed, the purchase is final. Access is granted immediately and the full content is delivered at once, so there is nothing to return.

If you have not redeemed your code yet, or something has genuinely gone wrong, write to manuelsumalpongiii@gmail.com and we will look at it case by case. We would rather sort out a real problem than hold you to a rule.

• Share, sell, resell or lend your account or access code.
• Copy, redistribute or republish SUMA's questions, formulas or solutions, in any form, including reposting them in group chats, review materials or other apps.
• Try to extract the bundled question sets, work around the access check, or reverse engineer the app.
• Use SUMA in a way that breaks Philippine law or the rules of any exam you sit.

SUMA lets you write your own decks and share them as files. Those decks are yours. You keep ownership of them, you are responsible for what is in them, and you confirm you have the right to use any material you put in them.

We do not review, moderate or store shared decks, and a deck someone sends you is their work, not ours. Do not put anything unlawful, infringing or offensive into a deck you share. If a deck reaches you and it should not have, delete it.

SUMA's own question sets, formulas, solutions, design and software stay ours. Your access code buys you a personal, non-transferable right to use them to study, for as long as your access lasts. It does not transfer ownership of anything.

We aim to keep SUMA running and correct, and we fix problems as we find them. We cannot promise it will always be available, error free, or that saved sessions will never be lost in a sync, so do not treat SUMA as the only record of your progress.

You can stop using SUMA at any time and delete your account at sumacards.com/delete-account. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, in particular one being shared or used to redistribute our content. Where a breach is minor and fixable, we will normally get in touch first.

To the extent the law allows, SUMA is provided as it is, and we are not liable for exam results, lost study time, lost data, or indirect losses arising from using it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under Philippine law.

We may update these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed, and continuing to use SUMA after a change means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines.
